Introduction

Order a Precise Images canvas and you will find that, truly, "A picture is worth a thousand words."

You can start your next painting with the picture already on the canvas! Any photo up to 8.5" x 11" can be scanned and printed on canvas. Your picture can also be sent to us on computer disk. We use Adobe Photoshop and it will have to be saved accordingly. Color printing is standard, but we can print black and white if requested.

Cropping instructions refer to how the picture is enlarged; remember that the enlargement will be done in proportion to your picture. We will increase your image as close to the dimensions you give us as possible. If you send us a photo and want only a portion of the image enlarged, you may want to overlay the photo with tissue paper and draw a box on the tissue paper indicating the area to be enlarged. We can also make the canvas larger than the image to accommodate size requirements if you so request.

Enlargements on pictures with people in them need to be large enough that the facial features can be painted. Portraits should not be larger than life size.

If you send us a processed color print of an image, you will find a slight (light) pattern on the Precise Images' printed image. This is called a "moiré effect." It results from an optical effect when you electronically scan a picture that has already been separated in the color printing process. This does not happen with photographs. The size of the pattern is governed by the amount of the enlargement.
